COD Windows 8.1 Empty
PostSubject: COD Windows 8.1    COD Windows 8.1 I_icon_minitimeWed Nov 19, 2014 4:19 pm

I installed a Samsung SSD 250 GB drive and made my new drive Windows 8.1, I am having problems getting the Master server list to populate, fact is it did for about 1 week and now it wont on my (1.0 ver. renamed Activision-1) but would on the (1.7 ver. with orig. name Activision) so I re-wrote the folder with an older Back up (my just in case Activision whole folder save) and still had the same problem? so not corrupt so it seams that maybe Windows 8.1 has a problem with retrieving the Master server list from Game servers? if that where is comes from? any Ideas?
also I tried 1.7 for the last 2 days and it worked but this morning I was still trying to figure it out and I re populated the 1.7 and It stopped at 2 entry's - WTF darn thing anyway! - I can still add the IP addresses and save as favorites in both, and play on those servers for the moment but trying to figure this out

Things that you might want to know

Windows 8.1  - has had MANY updates in the last several days, Maybe up to 100 and about 65 of them just before the problem, I may need to go back in time, but as It's so new of an install and would it change anything? plus it gave me only an option for the 14th - so ya may work, then shut off updates ...but I hate to do that unless others are having the same problems

Gaming system is Powerful enough for this game using ASUS P8P67 PRO MB with Intel i5 2500K clocked at 3.3 wiht MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 OC 2GB GDDR5 VD card and 8GB on board RAM and 750 WATT Power supply 80 Percent so enough there too - so ANY Ideas?..... ya hard to say huh Razz

I wrote this from work so I can verify anything later from home if I have any details wrong

Tox     Try uninstalling the gpu drivers completetly and then re-install them after making sure no drivers appear in device manager.
Let me know what happens.
P.S. I'm sure you checked already but make sure 3d mode is set to off in your NVidia drivers. Just in case... Smile Smile

If that doesn't work try this.

1) Right click the EXE of the game in question.

2) Go to properties

3) Go to the compatibility tab

4) Check "run this program in compatibility mode for" and select "Windows 8."

5) Check "disable scaling on high DPI settings."

6) Check "run this program as an administrator."

BTW fyi SSD'S tend to run slightly faster on win 8 as it is optimized for ssd technology.

ive had that same problem before with win 7. it just straightened itself out eventually. i could quick refresh. but if i refreshed it, it would never find any servers. And then i was screwed until it came back on its own. it must have something to do with updating. undo your recent updates and see if that works

Ive had this problem lately as well.. im still on windows xp (i know i SHOULD upgrade...) but yeah.. i cant load servers AT ALL... i have had to join for the past week using the console.. really annoying.. i switched over to my 1.7 and i worked fine for a while and then did the same thing.. Also, my ping on sc FFA is CRAZY high.. i usually run 50-100 but ive been hitting 360.. which really makes game play hard. yet ping on 1.7 is fine.. so i know its not on my end.. any thoughts, questions explanations?? i suk when it comes to troubleshooting like this..
