Xfire connectivity issue

With regret, I must inform you that I have been unable to log in to the Xfire desktop clients; both old and new.
I have a ticket in with Xfire to address the issue. Please pm or email me for now.

Xfire has been split up into two different services:

http://www.xfire.com - Xfire Tournament Platform
http://social.xfire.com - Xfire Social

If you are a classic Xfire user and wish to use the Xfire app, you will need an account on Xfire Social. This will be separate from the Tournament Platform accounts and vice versa.

social should be the correct one, yes.

Greetings;

I tried logging into the social xfire client - no joy
I registered under a different username, pressed the big yellow button to complete it and was redirected to a bad gateway error page.
I tried to login at it.xfire.com using my original registered username and got the same login fail as I did the first time out.
I suspect something is wrong with Xfire's latest version of the client.
