| My computer: -Windows XP home edition V.2002 -AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ ______________________ And I want to upgrade to: -Intel Core i5-2500(gM Cache,up to 3.70Ghz) -Around $200 But I have to buy a new mother board because my old one will not run Intel stuff So I am once again asking the ScaRe clan for advice on what to buy. My Price range is around $200 for a new mother board, but will go higher if its the only way I will be able to play Skyrim with all settings on high. Also advice about what to do and not to do when installing mother boards/Processors would be helpful. | |

| I want to get all Intel stuff thats why I will have to replace my current AMD mother board and AMD processor with a better Intel version.. Also my budget is around $400 since processors are around $200 and mother boards are around $200 as far as I can tell... But I might need other stuff like a new power supply and I have no idea how much that might bring the total cost to... I need to go rob a bank..sigh | |

| man go AMD and ATI, AMD is now leading Intel is general performance and is cheaper and takes less power. ATI is right up there with NVidia with less power use, less heat, and less cost .. that way you should be able to just upgrade your board and cpu for under $300 total | |

| I agree with flash on that one. AMD less heat, less power consuption ( bahhh to my english ) and good for overclocking in the future, but I am pretty sure you will not going to do that.
ATI, now is better then Nvidia. I have gotten 3 Nvidia cards and 1 ATI. My ATI was the best.. If you are going to ask me why you came back to Nvidia... Oh well I don't know... Lol. | |
