I think you did good slayer.

However here is my opinion on a few details.

1- The 3570k processor from intel is an exellent choice and just like the rest of your list follows a very good "bang for the buck" pattern. However unless you plan on overclocking you could go for a regular i5 3570 and save yourself about 25 bucks. Same proc just with unlocked multiplier.

2- Cooler Master cases are just AWSOME, however the haf 922 is a huge case. Unless you have 5 hdd's 3 gpu's water cooling etc. you could very well take a look at the CM 690 II Advance usb3. It's a fantastic case and again you'll save about 20-35 bucks and it looks like the terminator also.

3- The Asrock Extreme4 is now 4 dollars cheaper than the one you chose and it has better bandwith distribution (8x8 lanes for pci express3.0) so you can buy another gtx 260 for 40$ on ebay and sli away giving you about 70 percent more speed (frames per second) further futureproofing your new build and considering you already have a very good psu that can easily handle 2 gpus, 3 hdds, 5-7 fans and 16gigs of ram plus an overclocked 3570 with room leftover, i would seriously consider it.

Other boards worth looking at are gigabyte's z77x-d3h with everything asrock has plus more new usb 3.0 ports and Asus p8z77-v lk, Both in same price range as the one you chose but have more features especially the 8x8 lanes which for a gaming pc is a great advantage. You can buy the other gpu later if your budget doesn't allow for it now.

Also the Gigabyte mb has better onboard sound and more usbs than the Asus, i think its important.

4- The ram you chose is excellent however if i was building a new rig right now, i would go for 16 gigs.
Gskill offers 16g kits and also faster 2133mhz 16g kits in the form of 4x4gig modules (not overpriced).
Unless your budget is really limited you really should go for 16g now as it is the norm and again adds a good measure of futurproofing. And with the money you save on case and processor, it pays for the ram.

5- Since you plan on using your existing hdds, well its doable however the best way is to completely format the drive cause remnants of mb drivers might give you headaches for a week or more.

Good luck with your new baby.

Thanks for the advice! I actually already ordered the parts when i posted this though.. I got everything but the case today. I do overclock so i got the unlocked cpu. I have it at 4Ghz already. I didn't even notice the extreme edition.. wish i would have haha. I plan on getting two more Dimms next paycheck along with a GTX 660 Ti and an SSD drive for boot/game installs. I did Use DBaN to wipe the drives before i installed win7 today. She is running good and stable at 4GHz and I plan on upping that to at least 4.2 when i get a better cooler.

The case got here and i got it all built. The case is uh..... bigger than i expected ahaha. But it has great cable management and if you have the room i would recommend it. great airflow also. I have the i5 at 4.2, running prime95 it sits right under 80c on the stock cooler. Little warm, but not bad. This cpu blasts through tasks unlike my old core 2 duo, thats for sure. Cant wait to get a good cooler, ssd and the 660 ti and watch my fps go sky high lol.

You lucky dog you.
Ok you got me salivating now...
What do you use to measure temp with, i always use at least two programs and core temp for sure.
That thing is already super fast stock, imagine at 4.0ghz.
Let me know your 3dmark 11 score ok please, with gtx 260 and then with 660ti, just post it here.

Watch out for cyber speeding tickets!

Pc upgrade 2012-111

Pc upgrade 2012-113

Got cable management? haha

She is running good. My GTX260 does not run DX11 so i cant get you that yet rag.. i will once i get the new GPU though. I also use core temp along with asrock's overclocking utility to read temps. (I use the bios to actually OC though..) I love asrocks bios, it is simply amazing and really easy to work with. Sorry for the shotty pics, i took them with my phone.

Slay ya later guys!
